The OG breakfast burrito at Inga's Alpine Tavern, smothered in green chili
Inga's Alpine Tavern  ·  5151 Leetsdale Dr

A $20 burrito with an eight dollar price tag

The scale did not survive.

The OG is smothered in housemade green chili and packed with scrambled eggs, tots and chorizo. They toast the outside to a perfect brown crisp. It is a solid burrito size — not a breakfast wrap pretending, an actual burrito.

Order it with sausage and you will get chorizo. As it turns out, sausage equals chorizo here, and nobody is going to stop you making that discovery yourself.

The kitchen brought out another vat of the green chili while I was sitting there. That is the kind of place it is. The staff is incredibly kind, the beer selection is genuinely good, and the locals are to die for.

Before you go: they open at 7 AM

Their own website says 11. So does Google, which reads it. Their door has a chalkboard headed NEW HOURS, and it disagrees with the internet on all seven days.

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday7 AM – midnight
Wednesday – Saturday7 AM – 2 AM

Read off the board and confirmed by the bartender, 2026-08-29. If a listing ever turned you away at breakfast — they were open.

An alpine tavern that means it

Inside there is a copper cone fireplace with ski boots and poles stacked around it, a kilim on the wall, and a Rock-Ola jukebox you can queue from your phone. Out back the patio has a dartboard and string lights, and it books private parties — there was one for forty-five people on it the night I was there.

How this review was made. Every fact was read off a photograph taken on the property — the mailbox, the corner street sign, the hours board, the menus, the fence banner — or said by someone who works there. The phone number was given by the reviewer. The hours conflict was found by comparing the chalkboard against the tavern's own website on 2026-08-29. Nothing here was taken from a directory, and nothing was filled in by guessing.

This is one diner's opinion of a breakfast burrito. Inga's did not commission it, review it, or pay for it.
